Medical profession is one of the intense mental activity. Study and practice of medicines needs constant updating of skills as well as knowledge due to ongoing research and its application to medical treatment. Most doctors have to work as part of a team hence the ability to work with senior and junior doctors.
Some branches of medicine particularly, the surgical as well as dentistry require technical skill and precision. Working with sophisticated equipments, making decisions and interpretations as well as planning treatment requires alertness at every time.
Modern-day science is becoming more and more intricate. An MBBS degree is today considered insufficient for providing specialist treatment to patients. In such a scenario the 3 year course MD offers a good scope for intensive study in a particular branch of medicine.
A Doctor can get posting at Provincial Medical Services in District Hospitals, Public or Community Health Centers and Employee's State Insurance Scheme Hospitals as well as Central Health Scheme.
